New Alex Robinson, Too Cool to be Forgotten

Alex Robinson sets himself apart from the rest of the comic world with his long, sprawling, dramatic graphic narratives (Box Office Poison, Tricked). His books are resemblant of quirky memoirs or fiction works with a dose of mystery and thriller plot lines. Page turners that rank right up there with the best of 'em.

If you're not familiar with Robinson's work, check out his homepage or publisher's website (Top Shelf Productions) to get the gist of what he's about. The thirty-something creator offers a surprisingly youthful and fresh perspective on relationships, teenage angst, and the normality of everyday life, so don't think he writes to a comic geek crowd.

We've been thoroughly enjoying Robinson's forthcoming Too Cool to be Forgotten tome (out on Top Shelf Productions this July). The story revolved around a middle-aged protagonist named Andy Wicks who, in an attempt to quit smoking, has gone in for hypnosis. Somehow, through surreal misfortunes, Wick is transported back to 1985 when he was still a high schooler and seems "doomed to relive the mistakes of his past." Or so you think...

Be sure to pick Too Cool up when it comes out, but for now, whet your appetite with this five-page preview.
