While we were in NYC recently, we checked out Montréal native Tiga's DJ set at Webster Hall and what a blast it was. The Canuck dropped his spectacular electronic dance album, Ciao!, in March, and since then has been promoting it through an intense international tour (Europe's next). While his brain-melting New York rager is long gone by now, his numerous L.A. gigs are yet to come, so we're making it our job on this fine Wednesday morning to remind you to go to the guy's Friday, June 29 show at the Avalon for their weekly Control rave.
Ciao! sort of defines summertime listening. It's infectiously poppy, bouncy as a brand new rubber ball, sunny and straightforward, and crystal clear in terms of production. (DFA/LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy produced a couple of the tracks!) While the Canadian producer, label owner, solo artist, remixer, and much more will only be DJ'ing at the Avalon this week, rest assured he will spin the hell out of those turntables and keep you jamming all night long.
If, for some bizarre reason, you're not convinced upon hearing Ciao! and getting the you-don't-know-what-you-missed treatment from your NYC friends, then hop on over to Tiga's podcast page for a peek into what you may hear while he's working the crowd.
