A couple years ago when the news surfaced that Polaroid was going out of business and would be discontinuing the production of cameras and film, the creative world was turned on its head. After all, who hasn't at one point in time either owned a Polaroid camera or at least buried a few Polaroid memories in some tucked away shoebox.
But have no fear fellow low tech fans of tangible goodness, our prayers have been answered. Summit Global held a media event yesterday to announce that it was bringing the camera back and through a strategic partnership with The Impossible Project there will be film for it too. Expect to see the cameras and film hit the market sometime in 2010.
While we here at Anthem love the digital world, we love the analog world even more. Welcome back Polaroid, we hope you're here to stay.
