With the world continuing to fall apart, we would ordinarily feel a bit reluctant to suggest you order up elegant Scandinavian footwear with a price point over $200 (after international taxes.) Yet the 420g boots from Swedish shoe pioneers Gram are well worth making an exception for. They're pictured here in a two-tone leather rendition; the model also comes in black-on-black nylon, but we're obsessed with the smart shine and contrast that this pair provides.
We've never received quite so many compliments from total strangers while wearing a simple pair of boots. Everyone from dreadlocked hospital orderlies to teenage girls and our own mothers have expressed their admiration (READ: envy) for the 420gs -- and that's the sort of reaction we're willing to plunk down a few Euros for. These boots are exceedingly comfortable, even if -- like some people -- you have abnormally wide and flat feet. The soles are sneaker-style rubber, with no heel, which lets you wear the 420g equally well with denim or a proper suit. (The boot also has a distinctly tough, masculine edge. As my brother eloquently put it, the 420g wouldn't be out of place at either a high-end restaurant or a military rally.)
Visit Gram's online store for more information on the brand, or click here to order your own pair of 420gs.
