There's a brief span of time between a buzz artist's discovery and their eventual explosion (or sputtering, depending on how you want to look at it and if your glass is half full or half empty this morning) that's completely blissful. The artist enjoys the support of an energetic, sometimes obsessive fan base and the modest success that selling product and playing concerts brings; likewise, the fans are enthused that their discovery is yet to sell her soul to one of the record-spewing reincarnations of Satan, typically called the Big Four in the record biz.
London's Florence and the Machine seems to be deftly sliding through this all-too-natural progression for someone with talent and charisma, but for now, we'll revel in the delights that are her sultry yet sturdy and emotive vocal-driven pop gems (and forget the possibility that someday too soon, this gorgeous musician will be kicked into a state-of-the-art studio and told to produce her debut full-length with Timbaland, with K-Fed on backing vocals and occasional rap bridges). Anthem's favorite L.A. label, I AM SOUND Records is dropping Florence and the Machine's first U.S. release on June 10―the "Kiss With A Fist" 7" single. Pre-order the chunk o' wax here. You'll love the b-side, "Hospital Beds," too... especially if you're a fan of Cold War Kids covers.
Oh, and don't forget to stream the single in our media player to the right! It'll knock your socks off, but we know you'll come crawling back for more... This video of Florence and the Machine performing "Kiss With A Fist" is too priceless! The ear tug! The nervous microphone fumbling! Embrace this gal―a rare and unique find.
