Designboom just reported on a new series of photos, Michael Wolf's Copy Art, and we couldn't help but point it out to you all.
China is no longer the manufacturer of dinky plastic toys, cheap textiles, and the various bits and pieces one needs to assemble or construct anything from hubcaps to jet planes; now they're picking up the tougher trade of copying fine art pieces. While the Chinese replicas may be easy enough to spot as fakes and tend to be a little larger or smaller than the originals, the craftsmanship and talent poured into each piece is undeniably great. Some of them might even fool house guests who aren't quite as in the know as others!
Check out Wolf's Copy Art photo gallery here. His expert photographic skills make the showcased canvases all the more alluring.
