Sub Pop Records just announced that, after a "shockingly long sabbatical," its Singles Club will be back! Version 3.0 will run for only a year, but will feature such artists as Om, Unnatural Helpers, Tyvek, Black Mountain, Black Lips, Arthur & Yu, Mika Miko, Blues Control, Notwist, and some special yet-to-be-named acts.
The deal's pretty standard and straightforward: shell out $75 and get one new 7" record every month for twelve months, starting August 15. There will only be 1,500 copies available, so if you want one, join the club now!
Singles clubs are making a comeback it seems (record player sales have been going up an astronomical 400%/year for the past five years!), so dust off your turntable and get hip with Sub Pop's formidable reentry to the subscriber-driven world of vinyl!
