Björk's next single from last year's Volta will be the heart-wrenching ballad, "Dull Flame of Desire," which features the graceful Antony Hegarty (of Antony & the Johnsons). The digital release comes out on September 22 while the deluxe vinyl and CD editions will drop on September 29. The single will come with exclusive remixes by Modeselektor and Mark Stent as well as a special remix of "Innocence" by Sinden. Not too shabby!
The music video (above) has already be put out, and it's just as enchanting as the slow-paced tune. It begins with an amorphous animated rendition of Björk and Hegarty, transitions into an eerie, high-contrast black and white montage of the singers, and ends with one of the creepiest soft-focus close-ups of the two we can ever imagine seeing. Regardless, the thing's constructed in a meaningful way that mimics the somber tone of the single, and that's impressive in its own right.
