It might not be the craftiest and most clever name, but New High (M)art is breaking the "boundaries of L.A. retail possibilities."
The Chinatown 300-square-foot boutique functions as a exquisite combination of art gallery, guerrilla storefront, and forward-fashion show space. It won't always be open ("now-you-see-it-now-you-don't"), it won't always feature the same designers, artists, and staff, but it will certainly always surprise and intrigue you. The fashion industry is slowly weening itself off the seasonal system, and this pop-up store seems to be the quintessential illustration of that trend.
It's pretty much guaranteed that you'll never be bored walking into New High (M)art as the stock will always be changing (or just not there) and the featured selection will rotate at a much more rapid wait. Now we won't be discussing the upcoming seasonal pallets, fabrics, and styles, but rather what'll be hot next week or month.
Come check out the opening on November 3 at 8 PM (741 New High Street Los Angeles, CA). Brian Lichtenberg will be the debut designer at the store.
