Gothenburg, Sweden's Johan Agebjörn has accomplished a tremendous amount in his life, but only recently―through his work with Swedish compariot and spacey chanteuse Sally Shapiro―has the man come into the limelight that he deserves.
While the bulk of his compositions have been relatively dancey (at least) and extra spacey (all the time), he's never come out with something as intensely atmospheric and ambient as Mossebo, his latest solo LP, out now on Lotuspike Records. The epic eleven-track disc is expertly mixed and produced―in typical Agebjörn fashion―and the best "chill out" music we've heard in quite some time.
Four of the songs feature vocalist Lisa Barra who adds to the spooky yet somehow warming depth of Agebjörn's epic pieces.
As we transition into these Fall months, be sure to pick up the record. It'll cocoon you in sweet, ethereal sonic beauty; the perfect soundtrack to falling leaves, early setting suns, open skies, and twinkling stars.
