The 69th Cannes Film Festival once again unveiled an impressive roll call of some of the world’s biggest stars, revered filmmakers and exciting newcomers. It was 12 days of chaos—or blissful paradise—for the 4,000-strong press pack on the French Riviera. Cannes is unrivaled. Notably, we had the pleasure of sitting down with some insanely talented individuals. To give you a more intimate look at some of our encounters this year, we’ve put together a collection of exclusive portraits, including McCaul Lombardi of American Honey, Gong Yoo of Train to Busan, Kirill Serebrennikov of The Student, Tatiana Maslany of Two Lovers and a Bear, Anders Danielsen Lie of Personal Shopper, Viggo Mortensen and Matt Ross of Captain Fantastic, Alejandro Jodorowsky of Endless Poetry, and Daniel Grao, Adriana Ugarte and Emma Suárez of Julieta.
